Ways To Find The Best Location For Your Destination Wedding

One of the newest trends in weddings is to have a destination wedding. A destination wedding is a wedding ceremony that is hosted outside of where the bride and groom live, not including the hometowns of the bride and groom. For example, if you live in Ohio and your family lives in Ohio, then a Santa Barbara wedding or a Ventura wedding would most likely be considered a destination wedding even though both cities are still in the United States because it is in a completely different city than where the bride and groom live. A destination wedding can be a very special occasion, but it needs to be planned even more carefully than a wedding that is planned in the hometown of the bride and groom because there is a lot more that needs to be done from a distance for a destination wedding, especially if the wedding is out of the country. Below is a list of things that need to be done when attempt to select a destination wedding location.

1. Choose a place where you would like to go on vacation or where you would feel comfortable making plans from far away. One of the main purposes of having a destination wedding is so the bride and groom feel like they are on a vacation for while at the ceremony. You want to start by generating a list of places you would like to have the wedding and then use Steps 2 and 3 to help narrow your list down.

2. Confirm local marriage license requirements, especially if it is a location that is not in the United States. You simply cannot have your wedding ceremony without the proper marriage license requirements, so this step is extremely important and will probably help you in deciding where to have your destination wedding.

3. Decide on how much you would like to pay for your wedding. Again, this will slim down the amount of destinations you have from Step 1.

4. Contact at least one representative for each of the remaining few locations on list and then select a final destination. This will give you a good idea of how easy or difficult it will be to plan the wedding with the representative while you are back in your home city in a different part of the country or world.

5. Make a list of the positives and negatives of each of the locations left on your ceremony locations list. The bride and groom should go through this list together, so both feel comfortable with the final decision about the destination. Then, let the representative from the location you choose know you want to you’re your wedding where they are.

You will want to make sure that the final location you choose will be easy to plan from wherever you are living. You also want to make sure the location will be able meet your budget requirements and that it is place you really want to be married at because for a destination wedding you should make sure you feel like you are on vacation. Finally, you want to make sure it will not be too hard to meet the local marriage license requirements. If you follow these tips pretty closely, you should be well on your way to having the perfect destination wedding location!
