When we decided to change our priorities and escape the hectic city life we started seeking out our next heaven on earth. Living on the California coast was enjoyable, but crowded regardless of what activities we picked to do. We had heard about Colorado and the big areas of openness, especially in western Colorado with villages like Aspen and Vail that are smaller communities, yet a real culture and population.
Landing the plane in into Grand Junction we ventured east on Interstate 70 to check out Western Colorado. It was late afternoon when we arrived in Glenwood Springs and felt this would be a good place to stop over and then decide on Aspen or Vail the next day. We elected to rest at the old and quaint Hotel Colorado and after settling into our room we wanted to explore what Glenwood Springs had to offer. The concierge suggested some nice shops to see, but when we asked about places to eat he suggested it depends on the food you want to enjoy. Being in Colorado I wanted a big fat steak, but my better half wanted seafood like back home. I explained to her the closest ocean was too many miles distant, so the seafood would never be as fresh as we could get at home, but she held her foot down. So her suggestions was a quaint eatery right across the foot bridge called Juicy Lucy’s Steakhouse where we could have the best selection for both.
Once we had finished visiting several small shops we found Juicy Lucy’s Steakhouse and after a brief wait at the historic bar we were shown our table. As I looked over the menu I noticed the perfect meal for me, Colorado Elk Sirloin. All natural grilled elk sirloin sliced and served on saut
