You Are What You Eat – Choose Healthy Food and Get Rid of the Excess Pounds
Thursday, February 2nd, 2012Have you ever heard another person mention, “you are what you eat?” You may have thought it was simply a phrase used by parents who want their children to eat their vegetables but you really are what you eat! If you eat a tuna sandwich, the tuna is broken down and the amino acids (proteins) from it are used in your body for building muscle and creating new cells! When you ingest a lot of junk food, you may observe that your skin color changes and you look heavier, whereas when you ingest healthy foods, your overall appearance is slimmer. If you’re truly interested in slimming down, you need to look at your diet. When your diet is unhealthy, working out too will not benefit you. It’s crucial that you add healthy and nourishing food in your diet.
So, what should you include in your healthy diet that will quicken weight loss? The goal is to cut down on calories so that you lose weight, but without starving yourself or causing yourself to splurge on junk food. You should slowly change your eating habits instead of drastically lowering your calories and food choices. Begin to slowly change your meals and snacks so that you are eating more healthily. Hence, the first thing you need to have your diet is protein. Your body requires protein for cell repair and muscle building, among other things. Adding foods to your weight loss diet such as meat, eggs, and soya will provide enough protein. One more essential food group to include is carbohydrates. Nonetheless, you don’t want to overeat carbohydrates since the unused energy will be stored as fat. Go for foods including whole grain bread and brown rice for your carbs needs. Last, you should add fats. Surprisingly, your body requires fats in your diet even when you’re attempting to lose weight. Opt for healthy fats that are in things such as peanuts and fish. And don’t forget to ingest fresh fruit and vegetable because they contain a great deal of vitamins and minerals that your body needs!
You should also be wary about what sorts of foods you must not eat. Apparently, you should try cut down as much junk food as you can and you should eat healthy cuts of meat. Don’t consume refined carbs in bread and pasta products and opt for healthier whole grain alternatives. Try to avoid alcoholic beverages as much as you can as it will impede your weight loss endeavors.
So now you know what you need to have in your diet and what you need to stay away from. Look into several healthy choices to replace your current eating habits. If you’re having trouble with portion size try eating 5 or 6 small meals per day because your stomach will shrink, meaning you will feel fuller faster and therefore ingest less food.
