Ideas To Fly The Pennant Without It Flying Off

It is quite a phenomenon that since time immemorial, men have gathered themselves around banner flags to show their loyalty to it for one reason or another. This custom came about because of the lack of uniforms that have become the norm in these modern times. flag pole installation is not only for those who are at war. Many organizations will proudly fly their pennants outside their headquarters, or outside their homes, to show that this is where the product is available.

Many standards or pennants will show something on them which everyone will know represents the individual organization. For example, car dealerships will often have the logo of the car company advertising that the car is available there. If they are sole dealerships for one make of car in particular, then they will fly pennants so that people will understand that this can be the only place in town for that new car.

For organizations, sometimes emblems that are connected to the group will be embroidered onto the pennant to give it some historical value. Freemasons are a good example of this where the set square and the ‘all seeing eye’ identify them as a follower of that tradition. Although some would say that this organization would be better off not identifying itself due to some negative connotations, the masons themselves are only too pleased to be connected to it. They are proud to be associated with the cause that has helped so many people in the past.

The American ‘stars and stripes’ is another prime example of a country proud of its heritage. Each star represents a state that has joined the union. Before each and every state joined in, this standard was made up very differently. At one time, the square full of stars was actually a circle of about ten stars which were all the states that were included at that time.

One pennant that cannot change its design is the Australian one. This has the Southern Cross emblem on it which is a constellation of stars from the sky over that continent. The site of this has become synonymous with Australia and no one would confuse it with any other country in the world.

One thing to remember though if intending to fly a pennant outside a dealership or the home and that is post should have proper anchoring in the earth. High winds and severe weather could uproot this post which could prove to be a great liability if anything untoward happened. Indeed, high winds have been known to blow whole roofs off so making sure the post is set well into the ground is absolutely necessary.

Firstly, make sure that the post is long enough for holding up the pennant, plus enough in the ground to make it very stable. Also make sure that once it is in situ that it is completely upright and not leaning. This is easily achieved by checking with spirit levels so do not try to do this completely by just looking at it. Lastly, make sure that the cement mix being used is the right one to hold everything in position. A wobbly post is just as dangerous as one that is not put far enough into the ground. Make it very firm and it should not cause any problems in future.
