Parents And Children Unite To Get Healthy

Kids don’t seem to think that they will ever get older and the way they do things reflects that and I was just like any other kid. I ate what I wanted, when I wanted. I could treat my body badly and not feel the repercussions from how I acted. Despite my lack of nutrition I was able to stay in decent shape. Of course I eventually learned that my body would seek out its revenge.

I settled into a comfortable life that included a job, wife, and children. Things were going well and I was happy with the way that things were. As I grew older, my body grew too. I could no longer live my college lifestyle. My body that stayed fit and trim with little effort had expanded before my very eyes. It seemed like I had no time for myself. All of my time was spent on work, whether it be mine or my kids homework. This was not a good way to survive and I had to do something different. If I didn’t get some control in my life, I would be teaching my kids the wrong way to live their life.~I was setting a bad example for my kids and knew that if I didn’t change they would turn out just like me. My children were not being taught the right way to remain healthy and would look like me when they were older if I wasn’t careful.} I did not want them to follow in my footsteps when they became adults, so I decided that it was time to lose my stubborn belly fat and learn how to lose weight fast in order to help myself and my family and give them a good shot at being healthy in the future. It was important for me to have my spouse and children be included in any fitness regimen I could come up with.

Since I decided to do this with my family, it made the challenge a little more difficult. We would have to juggle our schedules to find the time to do it together. We would also have to find a method that everyone would agree to and enjoy. It was not going to be as simple as going to the video store and buying a copy of the latest and greatest six pack ab exercises, because I had to find something that would work with kids as well as adults, and it had to be good for both men and women. In the end, what kind of plan we chose was not as important as making sure that we could do it as a family. We discovered that being able to perform the activities together was an extra benefit for us. We found out that we could take ourselves out to a nearby park to get some exercise in. By going to the local park we were able to get active, and also spend a great day together. We also knew we could ride bikes in the neighborhood together. It didn’t take long before we realized that thee were many things that would work for us, and we developed a fitness program to follow.

I started to think about how we could alter our diet as a family. I began to do some research and discovered that there was help available at the biggest loser forum, which had many useful links and also had chat rooms which were full of people who offered some great advice for me and my family to implement our new fitness regimen. As a family we all had different tastes and satisfying all of them with more nutritious food was not going to be easy. Working as a family we were able to come up with a diet plan that suited everyone and would be healthy for us.

The benefits of doing the fitness regimen as a family are plentiful. Our family was united in our quest to get healthy. That was time that used to be spent in separate parts of the house. By working out with each other we found something in common. In addition to being with each other more, our body’s were benefiting. Parents and children that were growing apart had found a way to grow closer to each other. Because of the fitness regimen, the generation gap between the parents and the children was lessened. It started as one individual who realized that they were badly out of shape and needed to change, but it ended up affecting the whole family.
